Here is an interesting sign of the times. Jupiter Media’s pioneering WiFi Planet Conference and Expo has changed its name. In a promo email I received this morning they said why they did it:
Voice Over WiFi (VoWiFi) will dramatically lower phone costs, while providing mobility-across the enterprise campus, and eventually between WiFi and cellular networks. That’s why we’ve changed our name to WiFi/VoWiFi Planet.
Ubiquitous mobile computing of the future looks like it will include everyone being able to converse by voice.
